"Thoughts While Creating"

 

Right on time, the sound of the train horn blast cuts through the town.

 

Long since empty, this is a place that was once bustling with people going about their daily lives.  Now forgotten, it remains as a reminder of a past that was filled with hard working people who seemed to hold a higher moral compass for the country and what made it work.

 

Although the train no longer makes this stop it continues to pass through everyday on its daily run. Yet there was a time, not so long ago, when the young men of the day waited in anticipation for the train to stop, eager for them to volunteer their time and treasure to fulfill the dream that was America. Leaving families and lives they understood what it meant to be a person of pride and commitment to a cause.

 

Although they have become shadows, in many ways their sacrifices highlight that in the heart of this country there is still a feeling that America represents all that is great with our world.
