"Thoughts While Creating"

Why is the last house always the scariest?

The black cat, the flock of bats, and the Jack-O-Lanterns call out  to all the kids as they make their Halloween rounds. Grabbing tightly onto their parents hands the little ones nervously ring all the door bells and yell the words of the guising. They are greeted by bags of treats that hold the best of candy and other treasures.

Tonight, unlike all other nights of the year, is filled with the stories of ghosts, goblins, and things that go bump in the night. We jump at even the smallest sound as we continue to hear the echo of the words of the guising throughout our neighborhood. The orange sunset paints the sky in beautiful autumn colors that remind us of the coming season. Pumpkin and corn stalks fill the fields of the farms with their overflowing bounty.

As you walk the streets tonight remember all of us were kids not so long ago, recalling the words of the guising, dressing in spooky costumes, and trying to scare our friends, as we passed though the journey of childhood innocence. Enjoy the fun of this spooky evening with family and friends for as long as you can.

And always remember the words of the guising –

“Trick or Treat”.
