Dear Mom;

 

Grandpa and I are having a great time at the cabin he built. We sit everyday on the banks of the stream and fish, laugh, and tell stories. Grandma yells at Grandpa and tells him to stop telling his tall tales.  We hope to have the new room finished when you and Dad come to pick me up next week. Grandpa lets me help him with the saw and we cut the wood for the walls.

 

This is probably the best summer of my life, I’m glad that you convinced me to come here. Grandpa lets me use the same pole that Dad used when he was a kid and says that it is still a magical pole because I catch all the fish.

 

I made a new friend this week, Billy a boy that lives not far from the cabin. He lives here all year round and he knows the ins and outs of the woods. We go swimming, have camp fires, and do all sorts of things. Well, Grandma is calling me to help her with the wood for the stove, so I am going to go now. I can’t wait for you and Dad to fish with me and Grandpa.
