Who are the real heroes?

 

Our culture is full of stories of people that we are led to believe are heroes. Sports figures, celebrities, and politicians are treated in such a manner that from afar you would believe they are people to be admired or idolized.

 

But the real heroes enter the sacred ground every day in pursuit of freedom, compassion, and selfless performance. Many are ignored by their own country, given little rewards for their service and often live lives full of darkness. Yet they walk through places that nobody else would walk through, they touch people that nobody else would touch, and they lay down their lives for the dream of country and freedom.

 

These are the men and women that are the real heroes. Say a prayer for each of them today in gratitude for what they have done so that we can have the opportunity to live free.

 

Freedom comes with a cost.
