"Thoughts While Creating"

 

When I was 8 years old I dropped my Aunt’s snow globe.

 

My family and I were visiting my favorite Aunt during the Holiday Season and as usual I was wandering the house touching all the things that I was told not to touch. When we arrived my Aunt greeted us with her fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (my favorite) and I can still remember the house being full of the pleasant smell of holiday treats baking in her oven.

 

As the adults sat down for a freshly brewed cup of coffee (my Mom’s favorite) my cousin and I went into the parlor (living room) to look at all the holiday decorations. Beautiful holiday music echoed from the record player and cards and gifts filled every corner of the room. We ran to the window, which was covered in a frosty glaze, and watched as the first snow of the season began to fall. We could see the nearby park and the shoppers outside the window going about their holiday shopping in the gently falling snow.

 

At the time we did not understand but these came to be the times of our lives, the memories that we hold and cherish for a lifetime. When I was a bit older my Aunt gave me her favorite snow globe and told me that every time I look at it to remember our wonderful times together.
