Does time actually exist or is it a man made measurement?

 

These are the questions that have been pondered throughout the centuries. Newton subscribed to the realist view that time is a fundamental structure of the universe; a dimension independent of events. A different view holds that time is neither an event or a thing and thus is not measureable nor can it be travelled.

 

In the current age atomic clocks using the spin property of atoms as their basis have the ability to measure time down to caesium atoms.People talk about spending “quality time” with their friends and relatives and of the proposed ability to travel back in time. We have even created the term “horology” to define the study of devices that measure time, such as clocks and watches.

 

Being human our egos will continue in their attempt to control our environment. But our understanding of time’s essence will only be known once our spirit is free.
